Rusty Wright Blues is honored to be the Detroit Blues Societys representative in the Electric Blues division of the 23rd Annual International Blues Challenge taking place February 1-3 2007 in Memphis Tennessee. We will be competing with more than 130 of the worlds finest unsigned blues acts for prizes and recognition but most importantly, a huge career boost. This is a very exciting opportunity for us as the IBC has been the launching pad for the careers of major blues artists like Susan Tedeschi, Tommy Castro and Albert Cummings.
Volunteers from the Detroit Blues Society work year round raising funds for the winning band and solo/duo act of each years Motor City Breakdown blues challenge to help defray travel expenses. We are very grateful for their hard work and for their generosity.
Taking a seven-piece band to Memphis will be an expensive undertaking and friends and fans have been asking how they can help. In response, we have set up this donation page. We estimate that we need to raise about $1000 more to cover gas, meals and lodging.
If you would like to help us on our road to Memphis, we would be forever grateful. You can donate any amount from $1 on up.
